The Ministry of Defense announced Shoigu’s trip to the military conflict zone in Ukraine

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu again inspected the headquarters of the Vostok group of troops in the combat zone in Ukraine. On this subject reported in the telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the Defense Ministry, Shoigu visited the forward command post of one of the formations of the Vostok group of forces, located in the southern direction of Donetsk. There, the defense minister heard a report from the group’s commander, Colonel-General Rustam Muradov, as well as officers from the headquarters on the current situation and the actions of the troops, according to the report.

The military department also said that during the trip, Shoigu “paid special attention to the organization of comprehensive support for the troops of the group, including the conditions for the safe deployment of personnel, as well as the work of units medical and rear”.

In addition, the Minister of Defense thanked the servicemen who are in the military conflict zone and also presented them with awards.

“The awards are well deserved. You fight with dignity! There is still a lot of work to do. I truly hope that you will continue to serve our country faithfully. Good luck, success and, of course, go home alive! Shoigu told the military.

The military department also released a video of Shoigu’s trip. In it, the Minister of Defense is in a helicopter, presumably at the headquarters of the group of troops and, apparently, listens to reports (this fragment of the video is published without sound) from the army, then hands out awards to the soldiers.

Shoigu’s previous trip to the Vostok Group headquarters was on January 17, the Defense Ministry reported. Then he went to the Vostok command post, where he heard a report from the commander of the group, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov, as well as commanders of formations and formations.

Since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly reported on Shoigu’s trips to the military conflict zone. The military department announced the first public visit in June 2022. Shoigu also, according to the defense ministry, inspected the “South” and “Center” troop groups, which are involved in the fighting.
