Sergei Gavrikov, 37, who died in Elbrus, worked as a referee for the Metropolitan College of Football Referees. The Moscow Football Federation expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.

The Federation reports that Sergey worked at the matches of the Moscow Championship among exercise therapy, the Moscow Championship in football and mini-football.

At the moment, the Russian Investigative Commission for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic is carrying out a pre-investigation check.

Thus, we managed to find out that on March 2, Sergey, together with his friend, climbed Elbrus on his own. The woman felt unwell at an altitude of 4300 meters, refused to continue climbing. The man continued to climb.

He did not make contact, only came down from the mountain at dusk. On the afternoon of March 3, 2023, rescuers found his body over 5,000 meters above sea level. The cause of death, according to preliminary data, is a fall from a cliff.
