It is time for rich countries to share their revenues with third world countries. This statement was made by UN Secretary General António Guterres.
He noted that poor states are suffering because of the crisis, climate change and “deep global injustice”. Moreover, these countries cannot keep up with technological developments.
According to the UN Secretary-General, the least developed countries need help in areas such as poverty reduction, health, sanitation, as well as the supply of food and drinking water.
Guterres added that the UN expects its members to support the idea of allocating at least $500 billion a year for the development of these states.
