In Ukraine, they offered to withdraw the cars of drunk drivers for the benefit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

– Published on:

A draft law on the confiscation of cars for drunk driving with their subsequent transfer to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The objective of the bill, as stated in the explanatory note, is to reduce the number of accidents, as well as to achieve a “fair approach to the supply of cars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine”. Bill n° 9076 is published on the Rada website.

The amendments provide for an increase in the amount of the fine as a first measure. The confiscation of the vehicle is provided for in the event of repeated driving during the year in a state of alcoholic, narcotic and other intoxication.

The confiscation for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of a drunk-driving car is described in the document as “a completely fair decision in such difficult conditions for the country”.
