His Excellency Mr. Chaba Koroshi, President of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, stressed the urgent need for global cooperation and its crucial role in paving the way for assuming joint responsibility in addressing the repercussions of climate change. Koroshi said, in a panel discussion held today as part of the Education City Lecture Series sessions entitled / Solidarity, Sustainability, and Science… Solutions for a Promising Future: "A sustainable future will not come unless we all succeed – as developed and developing countries – in striving to achieve it, and it is necessary to realize that either we will all succeed, or no one will.". He highlighted the role of small and developing countries in their collective orientation towards sustainability, saying that "There are always some countries that play a bigger role in engaging in such an important discussion, and it is often the small countries that lead the discussion, after seeing firsthand the wonderful work that Qatar has done, I believe that this country will be among the countries that will lead the dialogue world on sustainability". And stressed that "Climate change is not a form of science fiction, but rather it has become a tangible reality. In order to send a message of clarification to the young people present, he made it clear that climate change is not a strange matter, but is related to all of us and our common future, noting that what we do or fail to do will have a role in the future that we will live in. In the same vein, the solutions that should be adopted in order to achieve a sustainable tomorrow also fall within the area of responsibility that we should bear. We need a common understanding to realize that a sustainable future is about us". Koroshi stated that we all share one climate, we belong to one civilization and that science, solidarity and solutions should emanate from all of us.
