Poland is already facing a demographic crisis. In the future, the situation in the country will only get worse, said Slavomir Dudek, president of the Institute of Public Finance.
The expert, quoted by Rzeczpospolita, claims that the number of Poles has decreased by almost two million over the past decade.
“You can slightly alter the trajectory of this dangerous meteorite, but it will definitely hit us,” the economist said.
According to Dudek’s calculations, the Polish population is aging too quickly, which negatively affects the country’s economy. One of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development scenarios assumes that Poland’s public debt will reach 140% of GDP by 2050. It is specified that now it is 55%.
