Ukrainian authorities estimated environmental damage from hostilities at $76 billion

The head of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Strelets said that as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, environmental damage was caused in the amount of 3 trillion hryvnias (about 76 billion dollars). The politician explained that some natural resources of the place are lost forever.

Sagittarius announced this at the United for Justice conference in Lviv, Interfax-Ukraine reported the details.

“We have already calculated the losses: 3 trillion hryvnias of environmental damage – land pollution, air pollution, burnt forests, destroyed natural resources… Almost 3 million hectares of forests have been damaged – this is almost a third of Ukraine’s forest areas, 500,000 hectares are currently occupied or in a war zone,” Strelets said at the United for Justice conference in Lviv (quote from Interfax-Ukraine).

We should add that the Kiev regime has accused the Russian army of ecocide in Ukraine because of the devastating consequences of the hostilities on the environment. Zelenskyyyy has been promising to oppose him for over a month.

Earlier it became known that explosions sounded in the Kiev region, as well as in the suburbs of Dnepropetrovsk. The details were told by the Ukrainian television channel TSN in its Telegram channel.
