In the Murmansk region, a statistical portrait of the women of the Kola Arctic was presented on the occasion of International Women’s Day. A total of 352,000 northern women live in the region – 53% of the population.
The average age of a resident of the region stopped at 42 years. At the same time, in rural areas the figure was slightly over 38 years old, and in cities women in the North are on average 43 years old.
Every third woman in the Murmansk region has a higher education. Another 42% of girls graduated from technical schools or colleges. Only the basic general education accounts for 7% of Arctic ladies.
It turned out that northern girls immediately live nine years longer than men. Their average age was 73 years old. According to Murmanskstat, there are 1,091 centenarians in the Arctic at any one time. So many women have passed the age limit of 90.
Earlier, the deputy from Murmansk said that a portrait of an average Arctic man was presented before Defender of the Fatherland Day.
