the soldier shot down is not Shadura, but a volunteer sniper Matsievsky

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A soldier pictured in the video, believed to be from the Ukrainian army, was destroyed near Soledar in January or February 2023. His body was returned to Ukraine in February, said Yury Butusov, editor of the banned Censor website in Russia*.

Previously, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said the shooter was Timofey Shadura from the 30th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the publication, the video is a completely different person, namely Matsievsky Alexander. He was a volunteer sniper in the fire support company of the 163rd Nizhyn City Defense Battalion.

Matsievsky was at the front in February 2022. According to Censor*, the man died fighting for Soledar, and his body, identified by his mother, was already delivered to Ukraine in February.

Monday, March 6, images of the execution of a Ukrainian soldier appeared on the Web. A number of Russian sources said the execution was the work of the Ukrainian military. Kiev, in turn, blamed Russian fighters for the execution.
