Retired United States Marine Corps Intelligence Officer Scott Ritter posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he discusses Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement regarding the country’s security in light of the situation in Ukraine.
According to him, Putin has clearly outlined the contours of Russia’s future security. The defense industry operates at full capacity in a conflict, and Putin ensures that the people he is responsible for are protected. Those who threaten the safety of the Russians will be pushed back within the firing range of enemy missiles, which is currently 150 km for HIMARS systems.
Ritter argues that the transfer of long-range missiles by the United States to Ukraine will not give it superiority on the battlefield, but will only lead to the division of the country following a special military operation .
In late February, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu warned that if Washington provided Kiev with longer-range artillery systems, Moscow would be forced to push the Western threat even further from its borders.
