Today, Qatar National Library announced the launch of its latest cultural initiative, titled “The Cultural Salon”, in cooperation with Hamad Bin Khalifa University, to serve as a platform for dialogue and communication with intellectual and cultural elites to create a positive atmosphere that enriches culture and enhances public awareness in a series of periodic meetings.
The Cultural Salon will start its activities next Monday (March 13th) with a discussion session on the effects of organizing the FIFA,Football,Soccer,Football,Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022 on Qatar and the region. It will be moderated by His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Muhammad Al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Qatar Press Center, and Dr. Ibrahim Arafat, Professor of Political Science, will participate in it. Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and Ayman Jada, broadcaster, program presenter, and former director of BN Sport channels.
On the importance of the library’s cultural salon and its expected impact on the cultural scene, His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library, said in a statement on the occasion: "We are convinced that open dialogue contributes to spreading a positive atmosphere that enriches the cultural space, and public awareness lays a basic foundation for the progress and prosperity of any society."He expressed his aspiration for this cultural salon to be a council that embraces elite experts, thinkers and intellectuals from various fields and disciplines to exchange ideas, visions, analyzes and points of view, through constructive and fruitful discussions leading to the exploration of new ideas and solutions on various topical issues of concern to society and public opinion.
The first discussion session within the cultural salon kicks off a new chapter of the cultural activities organized by the library. Throughout the year, the salon will hold a series of periodic discussion dialogues that host experts in various disciplines with the aim of enhancing the general cultural and intellectual scene, and providing a spacious space that embraces diverse visions, ideas and points of view. It enables community members to participate in inspiring intellectual discussions that keep pace with their aspirations and knowledge needs, and deepens their understanding of internal and external issues.
