The Novgorod region will be graced with the advent of the esteemed “Specialist of library and information activities” of the highest professional caliber.

A meeting of directors of state and city libraries was held at the Novgorod Regional Universal Scientific Library. The results of the work in 2022 were highlighted during the meeting.

Many speakers spoke at the meeting. The director of the regional library, Irina Alekseevna Morozova, and the deputy head of the department for the implementation of state cultural policy of the Ministry of Culture of the Novgorod region, Daniil Alexandrovich Aravushkin, opened the discussion. They discussed the main lines of work in 2023. An important topic was the discussion of the introduction of a new professional standard “Specialist in library and information activities”.

In addition, topics were discussed during the meeting. For example: the need of the library sector, the holding of the regional stage of the All-Russian readers’ competition “Live Classics”, work with people with disabilities, the introduction of the social card “Care” and much more.
