The value of Gasunie’s share in the gas pipeline operator “SP” was reset to zero at the end of 2022

| Stepan YatskoGasunie, a gas transmission company in the Netherlands, stopped relying on dividends from a 9% stake in operator Nord Stream, so it canceled it at the end of last year.

The circulated press release explains that, given the deliberate damage to the SP and SP-2 gas pipelines in September 2022, the resumption of fuel supplies to Europe should not be expected in the near future. It was the current geopolitical situation that led to the cancellation of Gasunie’s participation in Nord Stream AG.

The Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines have become the target of sabotage. The investigations carried out by Sweden, Denmark and Germany have not yet produced concrete results. The Kremlin called the incidents an act of international terrorism.
