The national coach Younes Ali, the coach of Al-Arabi, confirmed that his team achieved what was required by defeating Al-Shamal 3-0 in the final price of the Amir Cup for football 2023 in the confrontation that brought the two teams together today, securing its seat in the quarter-final round. Yunus Ali said in the press conference after the match: The confrontation was not easy, as we faced a strong team that presented good levels in the Qatar Football League / QNB Stars League / and showed great ferocity, especially in the second half when it rushed to attack in order to return to the match after being late. He added: In the first half, we did not invest spaces, especially at the level of the parties, although we created some opportunities and scored a goal, and in the second half the north rushed after the changes made by the coach by involving important players in offensive roles, which provided us with some spaces and we became more effective, to score the two goals. The second and third, however, does not obscure the presence of some defensive mistakes that we have committed, and we must avoid them when we return to league competitions. Yunus concluded: Our ambition is great in the current version of the Prince Cup, especially since in the last version we came out early by losing to Al-Sailiya in the final price, and therefore we seek to reach the farthest possible point, and compete for the title. In turn, the national coach, Wissam Rizk, the technical director of Al-Shamal, confirmed that the small details led to the loss against Al-Arabi with that result, considering that his players made a great effort to return to the match, especially in the second half, and they were not successful. He said: We were not at full strength, because we have special accounts between the league competitions and the Emir’s Cup, in light of the narrow time interval between today’s match and the next round of the league. We kept some players on the bench, and gave us the opportunity for elements to participate for the first time, along with players who do not get minutes. He played a lot in the last matches. He added: We defended in the first half and fell behind with a goal, so we had to take risks in the second half, so we attacked and created many opportunities and we could have scored the equalizer, which would have changed a lot of things, but we are facing a team that has strong elements capable of making the difference, similar to Omar Al-Soma and Youssef. Msakni and Rafina Alcantara, I think my team performed well. He concluded: We will turn the page on the loss and exit from the Emir Cup, and focus most of our attention on the upcoming matches in the league in order to reap more points and advance on the ranking ladder. Al-Arabi had reserved his seat in the quarter-final round by outright defeating Al-Shamal 3-0, setting a date with the winner from the Al-Ahly and Muaither match scheduled for tomorrow / Thursday / at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium in the same final round.
