The Qatar Olympic Academy concluded the Training of Trainers Course in Olympic Education, which was held over four days, divided between theoretical lectures and practical application, with the participation of approximately 15 students from various disciplines, studies and positions. The course included many axes aimed at preparing and refining the learners to be qualified to deliver lectures and seminars on Olympic culture, which is one of the most important pillars of the Qatar Olympic Academy’s calendar. The course dealt with many axes, as the lecturers presented, at the beginning, a historical account of the establishment of the ancient Olympic Games in Greece and its ancient and great history, and then they moved on to talk about the modern Olympic Games and what Baron Pierre de Coubertin presented during the establishment of the modern Olympic Games, and then they touched on talking about The three main Olympic values (excellence, friendship and respect) and the principles of the Olympic Movement, as well as educational values and their relationship to Olympic values in terms of concept, meaning and purpose. On the second day, examples of applications of cognitive activities were presented to disseminate Olympic values and principles among students in the physical education and training classes. On the third day, the course dealt with how to include the Olympic values within the plan for building a physical education lesson or training session according to the different age stages. The students also learned about the methods and types of motivating young people to practice sports activities. As for the fourth day, it witnessed debates between the participants in the course after they were divided into two teams, one of which presented many questions and experiences in the Olympic field, and the other answered these questions sequentially. At the end of the course, Mr. Khalil Al-Jaber, the Executive Director of the Academy, thanked all the learners. He also honored the lecturers, Professor Hisham Al-Adwani, Captain Muhammad Omar and Professor Hasnaa Buhaqab for their contribution to the success of the course, then he distributed the prizes to the winning team.
