In his conversation Sergey Smirnov, head of the investigative department of Za Rulem magazine, an automobile lawyer, spoke with journalists from the MK publication in St. Petersburg about the idea of introducing the practice of “marking” the number of malicious traffic offenses with special signs in Russia.
According to the expert, this initiative makes no sense. In the country, therefore, there are quite severe penalties for repeated violations of traffic rules, up to the deprivation of a driver’s license.
In addition, a person who has nothing to do with the offenses previously committed on this vehicle can sit behind the wheel of a car marked in this way.
In turn, traffic police officers have the opportunity to find all the information about the car by simply checking its numbers in the database.
