In the village of Nikulsky, municipal district of Yaroslavl, the restoration of the house-museum of Valentina Tereshkova in the Kosmos museum complex has begun. The house will completely repeat the hut in which the large family of the first female cosmonaut lived before the Tereshkovs moved to Yaroslavl, Krasnoperekopsky district.
The house previously installed in the museum complex was destroyed in a fire. The fire broke out on June 22. Investigators believe the fire was caused by arson. The culprits are being identified.
23 million rubles were allocated from the budget of the Yaroslavl region for the restoration of the house-museum. Yaroslavl authorities intend to fully restore the house by June, when the 60th anniversary of the Yaroslavl Chaika spaceflight will be celebrated.
