Egypt prevents 180 Umrah pilgrims from traveling to Saudi Arabia

Cairo International Airport authorities stopped 180 Egyptian pilgrims traveling via Saudi Airlines to perform Umrah, for the current year 2023 season, before the start of Ramadan, according to the website. "Cairo 24" the local.

And the site quoted what it described as informed sources at Cairo Airport, that there are visas that were issued without a barcode, as their travel was refused because there was no Umrah barcode issued by the Ministry of Tourism.

The site said that during the coming hours, the crisis will be contained.

Basil El-Sisi, a member of the Chamber of Tourism Companies and former vice-president of the Chamber of Tourism Companies, says: The reason for the return of pilgrims from the airport is the companies because they were not approved by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and in violation of the Egyptian Umrah Gate Law.


A member of the Chamber of Tourism Companies indicated that the airport must be banned for any Umrah performer who is not subject to a tourism company approved by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, commenting: We warned before that and always warn Umrah performers of brokers, fake programs and offers, and illegal ways to travel.

He concluded that there is a wide range of steps that precede the issuance of the barcode identification code, including: – Reservation of flights for pilgrims and adequate housing in Makkah and Madinah by tourism companies. – After that, the pilgrim will obtain the Umrah visa, and the company will record all this data on the Egyptian portal for Umrah.
