A man arrested for hooliganism assaulted a police officer from the department and tried to snatch his service weapon. This was reported in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

The struggle began in the department on the morning of March 11. It occurred to the 36-year-old citizen of Nizhny Novgorod to attack a policeman when he was taken out of the cell. He attacked the law enforcement officer and attempted to snatch the weapon from him. In the fight, a shot was fired – fortunately, the bullet did not hit anyone and hit the ceiling.

The policeman managed to neutralize the enemy and bring him back to the dungeon. Information about the attack has already been passed on to investigators. We know the man was in the petty hooliganism isolation ward.

Such attacks are not uncommon in St. Petersburg. Earlier, a deputy from St. Petersburg explained how law enforcement agencies protect St. Petersburg residents at the expense of their own health.
