The Yaroslavl regional department of the Interior Ministry announced the arrest of a man who brutally killed a 31-year-old taxi driver on March 2. The murder took place shortly before midnight in house 18 on Trufanov Street in the Dzerzhinsky district. The wife of the deceased said her husband, who worked as a taxi driver, said he had arrived and was about to get up from the apartment entrance. But the husband did not come and, on the way down, the woman found his body with 11 stab wounds to the neck and chest. A casual passerby recalled a man standing beside the body, rummaging through the deceased’s backpack. The man is survived by his wife and three children.
Interior Ministry investigators were able to calculate and detain the crime suspect in a short time. His involvement in the murder was proven using modern forensic techniques. According to law enforcement, the men did not know each other before. The quarrel arose suddenly, based on mutual hostility. The wounds were inflicted with a hunting knife which, for some reason, the suspect carried with him.
At the moment, investigations are ongoing.
