The amount of the grant will be 500,000 rubles – young cultural personalities will compete for it. This was reported to the Ministry of Culture of the Murmansk region.

Filmmakers between the ages of 18 and 35 were able to participate in the grant competition. They plan to make films about the Arctic. A total of four winners will be announced, they will receive support for a total of 2 million rubles.

The ministry said that in 2023, 17 applications were received for the competition. Not only northerners will compete for victory, but also residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Among them there are both beginners and those who have already participated in the project.

The projects of the young filmmakers are mainly short films, but there is also a documentary. The themes of the films are vast – it is the problem of finding oneself in the modern world, questions of moral values, and even superheroes living among us and showing sincerity and kindness, which is characteristic of northerners . They did not circumvent the theme of Sami legends and literary works.

According to the Regional Center for the Development of Film Production, on March 20 a decree will be published containing a list of those who are admitted to the competition. In addition, before the end of March, the commission will select four winners. They will not only receive subsidies, but also advisory support throughout the completion of the work.
