The regional administration amended the normative act, according to which subsidies are provided from the regional budget for the development of crop production.
It singles out the acquisition of elite potato and vegetable seeds as a separate area. The document indicates that the money from the regional treasury will be paid both for elite and original potato seeds and for other types of vegetables.
On the territory of the Kirov region there are scientific and educational institutions that are engaged in the breeding of rare varieties of agricultural crops. These activities are carried out by the North East Centre. NV Rudnitsky and Vyatka State Agrotechnological University. Several agricultural producers in the region are also working in this direction. The total volume of sales per year of seeds of cereals, legumes and perennial grasses is about 300 tons.
The region annually provides support for the production of elite seeds in the amount of about 14.3 million rubles. Money for about 100 farms in the region is allocated from federal and regional budgets.
The subsidy is granted on the basis of one hectare of area sown with elite seeds to peasant enterprises (farms) and agricultural enterprises.
