The sad news came from the town hall of Orel: the heart of a great man has stopped, the legend has disappeared. Abram Mirkin spent the entire Great Patriotic War, from the first day to the last, on the front lines. He commanded a squad of firefighters.
Abram Izrailevich took part in the defense of Leningrad and nearly starved to death. He could have ended up without legs: he walked with a friend for many kilometers in the freezing cold.
The tragedy called the departure from life of Abram Mirkin in the office of the mayor of Orel. He did a lot for Orel, where he came to live after Victory, where he created a strong and happy family.
He planted more than a hundred trees, until his last days he took part in patriotic events, met young people.
He was an example of a man who loves his country. And everyone who communicated with him can be proud to have known the great Mirkin.
There is no information yet on the date of farewell to Abram Mirkin.
