The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case for violation of safety rules during construction work (Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) after a temporary suspension of traffic on the section of the Big Circle line ( BKL) of the Moscow Metro between Novatorskaya and Aminevskaya metro stations. On the morning of March 13, the Moscow Transport Ministry informed that the developer “Donstroy” without the consent of the metro carried out drilling work on the site between the stations “Michurinskiy Prospekt” and “Aminyevskaya”. During the work, the machine drilled a hole, after which there was a release of clay and sand on the way.

This led to the fact that the section between the “Novatorskaya” and “Aminevskaya” stations was stopped for several hours for rail traffic, as it required restoration work. On the other sections of the BCL train went with extended intervals. According to department reports, the ring failure occurred around 10:26 and was eliminated in 12:25 .

How Remarks RBC, in the stage area on Michurinsky Prospekt and Aminevskaya, three Donstroy residential complexes are being built: Lights, Event and River. Which of them is involved, the deptrans did not specify. By decision of the Moscow State Construction Supervision Authority, construction on the site above the tunnel was stopped until all circumstances were clarified, the department noted.

Commenting on the incident, Yulia Ivanova, the official representative of the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee, said that a criminal case was opened under the article on violation of safety regulations during construction work ( article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to Ivanova, investigators found that the earthworks during which the soil was removed had been organized by employees of an unnamed “private construction organization”. As part of the criminal case, investigators are seizing construction and design documents, subcontracts and other documents, she added.

The construction of the Big Circle metro line in Moscow was completed at the end of December 2022. The BCL was put into service on March 1.
