Chairman of the State Duma Security Committee Vasily Piskarev told the committee’s Telegram channel that changes had been made to the laws “On state secrets” and “On the procedure for leaving the Russian Federation and Entry into the Russian Federation” at the Lower House of the Russian Parliament.
Piskarev explained that the amendments provide for a conclusion on the inappropriateness of a person’s access to state secrets if a citizen or close relatives have accounts and deposits in foreign banks outside Russia. In addition, the presence of real estate abroad or the use of foreign financial instruments can serve as a basis.
These measures, Piskarev noted, will help protect citizens from criminal encroachments from abroad.
With regard to temporary departure from Russia, it is proposed to allow citizens admitted to state secrecy to leave in the event of humanitarian circumstances, for example, when close relatives die abroad or to receive emergency care .
