The State of Qatar, represented by the Qatar Media Corporation, participated in the 24th meeting of the permanent expert group concerned with following up the role of Arab media in confronting the phenomenon of terrorism, which was held today in the State of Kuwait.
The delegation of the Qatar Media Corporation at the meeting was headed by Mr. Abdul Rahman bin Nasser Al-Obaidan, the media advisor at the Corporation. The Foundation is also participating in the work of the meeting (98) of the Standing Committee for Arab Media, which will start tomorrow / Monday / and will continue for two days in Kuwait. These meetings fall within the scope of following up the implementation of the decisions issued by the Council of Arab Ministers of Information during the regular session (52), which was held last September in Cairo, in a way that gives Arab media work more vitality and interaction in support of Arab issues, at various levels, starting with the Palestinian cause.
The items on the agenda also include combating terrorism and extremism, electronic media, dealing with major international companies operating in the digital field, in addition to draft guiding Arab legislation to regulate social media, and protect users from ethical and legal abuses of inappropriate content, as well as the inclusion of education.
