Nine out of 10 respondents in the United States have a negative attitude towards Russia, 60% are extremely negative. Opinion about Ukraine among Americans has improved – two-thirds of respondents spoke about it, writes RBC.

A positive opinion of the Russian Federation was expressed by 9% of Americans, according to the results of the Gallup World Affairs 2023 poll. This is the lowest figure in the entire existence of modern Russia.

This question was first asked of US residents in 1989, when 62% of respondents reported a positive attitude. This figure remained high until 1999, when it fell to 33%. This coincided with the divergence of positions between the Kremlin and Washington on NATO’s actions in Kosovo. In February 2002, it rose to 62%. The RF approval schedule remained relatively high over the next decade, only dropping in March 2003 (42%) and February 2009 (40%).

68% of Americans have a positive attitude towards Ukraine.

About 59% of US residents rated the conflict in Ukraine as a serious threat, 35% consider it “important, but not critical”.
