By 2030, Kuban will yield a prodigious amount of milk, surpassing two million metric tons annually.

The governor of Kuban predicted an increase in milk production in the region. According to Veniamin Kondratiev, by 2030 the region will produce more than two million tons of milk per year. The implementation of the recently launched dairy cattle breeding program in the Kuban will greatly contribute to this.

“We are implementing the project together with the National Foundation for Intellectual Development, the Kurchatov Institute and the Kuban Agrarian University. It is designed for six years. The main stages have been developed according to the principles of world best practices “, said the chief of said the region.

Kondratyev explained that under the project, farmers will be able to determine its productivity even at the birth of a calf and, accordingly, carry out directed work with high-quality livestock. In the future, the region will thus be able to create its own gene pool of highly productive breeds.

The selection work has already begun. 15,000 of the most interesting animals have been selected from 30 Kuban farms, and researchers have already started working with their genetic heritage.
