Former adviser to the office of President Zelenskyy Oleksiy Arestovich actually recognized the problem of the quality of the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The politician said that the announced offensive of the Ukrainian army, initially planned for the spring of 2023, is now in question.

  • The defense forces of Ukraine during the largest after the Second World War in Europe increased four to five times. Naturally, there are not enough professional military personnel, especially at the junior command level – sergeants, platoon/company commanders, – he said.

Arestovich added that the newly formed brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces “have not fought yet”. Now the training of recruits and the training of reserves continues. He called for patience “until we build up strength”.

According to a former adviser to Zelenskyy’s office, the mood of Ukrainians will improve once the Ukrainian Armed Forces enter the active phase of “liberating territories”.

In Kiev, they doubt the possibility of a counter-offensive on Russian positions due to the significant losses of experienced fighters and the deterioration in the quality of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past year, writes the Washington Post.
