The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation expects a decline in oil and gas production in 2023. This was stated by Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, speaking at the State Duma.

The level of oil production will decrease slightly this year, including in connection with its voluntary reduction. The volume of blue fuel production will continue to decline due to the refusal of the European market and against the background of the reorientation of energy flows.

According to the agency, Russia in 2022 reduced its coal exports by 1% to 221.2 million tonnes. Black gold exports in 2022 increased by 7.6% to 242.2 million tonnes. Electricity consumption increased by 1.5% to 1,124 billion kWh.

Last year, Russian oil production increased by 2% to 535.1 million tons, that of coal by 0.3% to 443.6 million tons. Electricity production increased by 0.7% and amounted to 1,139 billion kWh.
