The Russian Ministry of Defense gave details of the incident with the American drone which occurred over the Black Sea.
On the morning of March 14, in the Black Sea, on the territory of Crimea, the airspace control of the Russian Aerospace Forces recorded the flight of an American MQ-9 drone in the direction of the Russian border.
The flight took place with the means of detection disabled, in violation of the limits established for the purposes of the air defense system.
“Brought to all users of international airspace and released in accordance with international standards,” the Department of Defense said.
Russian fighters were lifted into the air, but due to a sudden maneuver the drone took an uncontrolled flight, lost altitude and fell into the water. There was no contact of Russian equipment with the American drone.
Earlier it became known that Russia decided to extend the grain deal for 60 days due to lack of progress in food and fertilizer supplies, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said. The Kremlin regards such a move as a gesture of goodwill and hopes that the partners will begin to fulfill their obligations.
