The players of the FRAM women’s handball championship team released a statement on <a target=”_blank” href=”” rel=”noopener”>instagram</a> where the handball movement’s lack of reaction to indecency and insults towards women and team staff is condemned. According to the website <a target=”_blank” href=”” rel=”noopener”></a> The reason for this statement is an incident in recent days where Sigurður Bragason, coach of the ÍBV women’s team, was guilty of hitting the back of a Vals employee after a match between ÍBV and Vals. Sigurður was banned for two games for this behavior.

“There were high expectations among sportswomen after #metoo, that the movement would eradicate all the harassment and violence that too many sportswomen and staff have had to experience from the start.
