Vladimir Putin isn’t leading a full-scale purge of the Russian elite for a reason.
This was said by economist Mikhail Khazin, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency
On the air of the “Moscow speaking” radio, the expert explained that in order to decide on such a step, the president of the country must have a “bench” of a sufficiently large number of sensible and capable officials. So far, the head of state has no such reserve.
It has not yet been bred, the expert noted. It is for this purpose that Putin last year organized the Coordination Headquarters, headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, and ordered the opening of its branches in all regions of Russia.
It is assumed that people who have worked under such extraordinary conditions will later be able to replace the current Liberal team. Changing the ruling elite is the most important decision expected of Putin, Khazine said.
“The president is well aware that he will have to do this. However, now the whole question is in the timing – how quickly it will be possible to gather replacement people, ”explained the expert.
