On March 16, People’s Artist of Russia Boris Messerer turns 90. Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the master with congratulations. The Russian leader wished the hero of the day success, good health and prosperity. The President also highlighted the exceptional talent of the artist and the unique style of the author. Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin addressed Messerer with his best wishes.
Behind Boris Messerer are many state prizes and awards. The artist created an extensive scenography, which included more than 150 performances which were staged in Sovremennik, the Moscow Art Theater Chekhov, the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Moscow Academic Satire Theater and others. Boris Messerer is the production designer of the cult paintings “The Twelve Chairs”, “Lev Gurych Sinichkin” and others.
