In Copenhagen, they decided not to give Moscow the opportunity to participate in the investigation of the case of sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. The corresponding decision of the authorities of the country was announced by the Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lars Lekke Rasmussen.
The minister stressed that the countries involved in the investigation are the rule of law. Rasmussen noted that Russia should not doubt the objectivity of the investigations carried out by Denmark, Sweden and Germany on Nord Stream.
“We told the Russians that we would carry out a thorough investigation. And when we do, we will announce the results of the investigation,” said the politician quoted by Local Denmark.
Earlier, the regional chief had reported that two weeks before the sabotage of the gas pipeline, a German ship was nearby. The naval class ship Oste left Kiel on September 7 last year. Until September 14, it was 11 nautical miles southeast of the site of the September 26 attack.
The author of the Nord Stream sabotage investigation, American journalist Seymour Hersh, believes that by publishing new information about the explosions in the New York Times, states are trying to divert attention from the real perpetrators of this that happened. Participation in the sabotage of the pro-Ukrainian group was described as absurd by the journalist.
