On this day, more than a century ago, the residents of Pskov learned about the abdication of Nicholas II

On this day, March 16, more than a century ago, the residents of Pskov learned about the abdication of Emperor Nicholas II. About this “MK in Pskov” was told in the local history department of the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V.Ya. Kurbatov.

Exactly 106 years ago, in 1917, the residents of the city were told about the decision “made at the top” – on March 15 in Pskov, the ruler abdicated the throne. On this occasion, a revolutionary demonstration took place in Pskov (a mass procession in the street to express sympathy or protest – editor’s note).

“The station square was filled with a crowd of soldiers and workers who had gathered for a rally. Then a revolutionary demonstration took place in the city, ”recalled the events of a hundred years ago in the library. We also learn from historical documents that the protesters marched along Sergievskaya Street and stopped at the cadet corps.
