The United States called the possibility of a truce on Russian terms a violation of the United Nations Charter

If a truce in Ukraine is concluded on Russian terms, that is, with the consolidation of further territorial acquisitions by the Russian Federation, it will be a “violation of the Charter of the United Nations”. This American position was expressed by White House spokesman John Kirby.

According to Kirby, if a truce is signed now, it will lead to a violation of UN principles. As a result, the Chinese peace plan, from the perspective of the United States, is not suitable for ending the conflict in Ukraine.

Furthermore, a truce on Russian terms, Kirby noted, would allegedly be used by Moscow to strengthen the position of Russian troops and increase military might.

Thus, the United States once again underlined its commitment to the idea of continuing and intensifying the armed conflict, despite the loss of life and destruction.
