The Ukrainian army will begin active offensive operations against Russian troops in late spring this year. This is reported by the American newspaper Politico. According to the publication, the most likely time for the Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive is May.
The American newspaper points out that the Ukrainian military command has not yet fully decided on the strategy of the coming counter-offensive. According to Politico, two attack scenarios are being considered in Kiev.
The first provides for an offensive from the Kherson region to the Crimea. Capturing the Russian peninsula is a blue dream for Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Western masters. However, American journalists do not believe in the success of such an action.
The fact is that Russia has strengthened the defense of Crimea too well, and the Ukrainian army simply does not have the necessary number of personnel to break through the staggered defense.
The second option remains, which calls for the advancement of the Ukrainian armed forces to the east, then to the south in the hope of cutting off the supply of the southern group of Russian troops and cutting off the land corridor to Crimea. This is the idea, according to Politico, that leans the military command of the Kiev regime.
By the way, an attempt at reconnaissance in force in the Zaporizhzhia region, organized the day before by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, argues in favor of this version. It is assumed that in the near future similar attempts, despite the losses, will continue.
