In the Belgorod region, the court sentenced the former head of the post office. The woman was found guilty of embezzlement.
The accused headed a post office in the Valuysky district. The court found that she took advantage of her official position and appropriated the 310,000 rubles entrusted to her. The woman went under part 3 of art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (appropriation – theft of other people’s property entrusted to the culprit, committed by a person using his official position, committed on a large scale).
The court sentenced her to 2 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years, and also decided to recover the funds embezzled from the culprit in the income of the Russian Federation as compensation for the damage caused. The verdict did not come into force, the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
