Nutritionist advises older people to eat more green vegetables

Green vegetables, due to the large amount of various minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, can prevent cardiovascular disease, which is especially important for the elderly. Oksana Mikhaleva, candidate of medical sciences, endocrinologist, nutritionist at the SM-Clinic medical center, told about this in an interview with Lenta.ru.

Green vegetables include spinach, kale and broccoli. At the same time, berries are no less useful for the elderly, especially blueberries, raspberries and cranberries. They are able to strengthen the immune system and prevent age-related diseases. However, due to their sugar content, they should be treated with caution.

But breakfast with oatmeal is not recommended. You should also reduce the amount of protein in your diet. About other undesirable products for the elderly, “MK in the Leningrad region” wrote earlier.
