Roskomnadzor blocked the Internet site of the project “Go through the woods” in Russia, which made it possible to escape mobilization. Roskomsvoboda* drew attention to this point.
Access is limited to all domains and subdomains of the site. The “Walk in the woods” telegram channel notes that the project’s database is also blocked, which contains general information on mobilization, military service, emigration and diaries.
The Go Through the Woods project was started by the former director of the Nochlezhka relief fund for the homeless, Grigory Sverdlin, shortly after the start of the partial mobilization. The project helped to illegally leave Russia, desert and “safely surrender”. The “Walk in the woods” telegram channel reports that since the mobilization began, more than 5,000 people have received help.
According to Roskomsvoboda*, at the beginning of February 2023, Roskomnadzor blocked more than 10,000 resources in the fight against counterfeits and discrediting the Russian military.
At the same time, in the week from December 5 to December 11, 2022, almost 14.8 thousand new entries were registered in the register of blocked sites. That’s three times the weekly average in 2022. The ledger hasn’t been replenished as actively since the massive lockdowns of 2018 and 2021.
As reported in Roskomsvoboda*, periods of earlier bursts of activity, which were characterized by an increase in the number of blockages, were accompanied by equally massive deletions from the register. However, in the period from 5 to 11 December, only 326 entries were excluded.
