Actress Christina Ricci says that at one point in her career, she was threatened with legal action after refusing to participate in a sex scene.
Christina Ricci has been in the business for a long time, ever since she was a child. She appeared on The View and spoke about her career.
He was asked how the working environment in Hollywood when Ricci was a young star was different from the one young people in the industry work in today.
“It’s great. Us older women talk about it all the time. It’s amazing how they don’t necessarily have to go through what we had to go through. They can say, ‘I don’t want to participate in this sex scene,” “I’m not going to be naked,” Ricci said.
“They can set themselves limits that we’ve never been allowed to do.” Someone threatened to sue me once because I refused to participate in a sex scene in a certain way. It’s really changed and it’s great to see.”
Ricci has mentioned this incident before, but in an interview with Variety in June, she said:
“I remember once during a shoot I felt something uncomfortable and they threatened to sue me if I didn’t.” That would never happen today.”
Ricci explained that she nevertheless defended herself and refused, and thankfully no lawsuits followed.
Ricci was only nine years old when she played her first role, that of the famous Wednesday Addams in a film about the Addams family. So it was only fitting that she star in a new series about the same character on Wednesday, which has been hugely popular.
