A resident of the city of Kogalym, Valery Alexandrovich Ursakiy, a serviceman of the Russian army, died on the anniversary of a special operation in Ukraine while carrying out a combat mission. The farewell to the fallen fighter took place on March 18, the city’s mayor, Nikolai Palchikov, said on his Telegram channel.

  • Today we said goodbye to our compatriot, participating in a special military operation. Valery Alexandrovich Ursakiy died on February 24 while performing combat missions,” Palchikov wrote.

For military services to the Fatherland, shown during hostilities, Valery Ursakiy received a state award.

On February 24, a special military operation began on the territory of Ukraine, the main objectives of which are the demilitarization and denazification of the country. According to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, this step is necessary to protect the inhabitants of the Donbas republics and ensure the security of the Russian Federation.
