Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church have commented on reports of the blackening of crosses on the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Temple.

The day before, the ministers of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra noticed that the crosses in the refectory church would have turned black. According to the priests interviewed, it is no longer worth making hasty verdicts on the change of color of Orthodox symbols.

As the head of the educational committee of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Maxim Kozlov, says, it is not so important that there were metamorphoses with color. A much bigger problem is the use of the temple by schismatics.

  • The use of the temple by the schismatics is a painful and insulting action for the Orthodox. For us, the unacceptability of the presence of schismatics in the ancient Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is undeniable,” the priest said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
