Residents of the village of Serebryan in the Mikhailovsky district were cut off from the “mainland”

The village of Serebryan in the Mikhailovsky district was cut off from the “mainland” due to the flooding of the road.

Earlier, the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that on March 18, the road near Serebryanya was flooded with water. The length of the flooded area is 15 meters. “Traffic on the road has been interrupted. There is a bypass unpaved country road through the Oktyabrsky settlement,” published by government of Russia.

Residents have denied this claim. After the publication of the material, the editorial staff of The Eastern Herald in Ryazan received a letter from a man named Nikolai with the words: “I read this article and the whole village cried. There will be no road through the village of Oktyabrsky until the summer, at least the village remains an island.

A local resident named Tatyana also confirmed that the settlement was cut off from the “mainland”. The editorial staff obtained a letter from the village head, sent to Governor Pavel Malkov in February 2023, with a request for assistance in allocating funds for the reconstruction of the bridge over the Pronya. The roll call says the bridge is the only entrance to the village.
