As part of a plan to normalize relations with Serbia, Kosovo has been given responsibility to immediately start negotiations on autonomy for Serbian communities in the region, says EU High Representative for foreign and security policy, Josep Borrell. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the representatives of Kosovo have assumed the corresponding obligations following the results of the talks at the highest level.
Borrell also said that Serbia and Kosovo have agreed on a plan to normalize relations. Earlier it was reported that the talks between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Kosovo’s self-proclaimed Prime Minister Albin Kurti lasted around 12 hours.
The press was not invited to the event, Borrell himself and the special representative for dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo Miroslav Lajcak were present at the talks. The latter said that it is necessary to approve the program for the implementation of the plan for normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
