Elon Musk said Trump’s arrest would only boost the politician’s ratings – Reuters

The former US leader is accused of paying porn actress Stormy Daniels a large sum of money in the middle of the 2016 presidential campaign to keep their past romance quiet. Trump pointed out that the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is prosecuting him, is simply carrying out a political order. All this is done in order to prevent the billionaire from participating in the next presidential election. Kevin McCarthy, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, has a similar view. “It’s happening again – outrageous malpractice by a radicalized district attorney releasing dangerous criminals in an effort to settle political scores with former President Trump,” the Republican commented. McCarthy promised to look into whether public funds were being used to undermine the democratic system by interfering in elections through politically motivated prosecutions, using the relevant committees.
Of note, Alvin Bragg, the U.S. Attorney for the U.S. District of New York, whose office is leading the case against Trump, has indicated that he will not tolerate attempts at intimidation and that he will end the investigation. Bragg’s insistence is understandable. His position is elective and he himself represents the American Democratic Party. At the same time, Trump himself wrote in his account that the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is funded by American financier George Soros. In turn, billionaire and successful entrepreneur Elon Musk approached the assessment of the current situation outside the box. According to him, if Donald Trump ends up behind bars, it will only increase the rating of the politician and will ultimately ensure him a landslide victory in the presidential election of 2024.
