Press Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said Details from the TASS agency about Vladimir Putin’s trip to Mariupol.
According to Peskov, Putin drove around Mariupol practically without a motorcade, observing traffic rules. The President’s trip to Mariupol took place on the evening of March 18 and the night of March 19. Putin’s campaign, according to his press secretary, to visit the residents of Mariupol was not prepared in advance, everything happened “spontaneously”. The plans of the head of state also include visits to regions of Russia in the next 2-3 weeks.
On Sunday morning, state television channels and news agencies broadcast footage of Russian President Vladimir Putin visiting Mariupol. Putin flew into the city by helicopter. At the wheel of a car, the president criss-crossed several districts of the city, making stops. During the visit, he listened to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin’s report and also met with local residents.
Moreover, Peskov commented Putin’s trip to the command post of the military operation in Rostov-on-Don.
“As for the trip to the Rostov-on-Don command post, it was not planned, it was not prepared in any way,” said the presidential press attachĂ©. “The main objective is to watch the operation of the command post as usual.”
Earlier on Sunday, the Kremlin press service reportedthat Putin held a meeting at the special military operation command post in Rostov-on-Don and heard reports from Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov and some military leaders.
