The New York City Police Department responded to calls from US presidential candidate Donald Trump for his supporters to come out to protest. Law enforcement officials said in a statement they were always ready to respond to any incident.
“The NYPD is always ready to respond to any unforeseen circumstances. Our contacts and interactions with our government and law enforcement partners are central to our commitment to public safety,” the police said. At the same time, they did not answer the question of whether they noted signs of preparations for street protests.
Earlier, Donald Trump announced his scheduled detention on March 1 and called on his supporters to take to the streets.
Prior to that, NBC reported that Trump was set to face criminal charges over silence pay for porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
