The upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow is a challenge for Washington and its allies. Columnist Ellen Mitchell writes about it in the American The Hill.
“Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow and the accompanying support from China is a challenge for the United States and its allies,” Mitchell said, as quoted by RT.
According to the author of the publication, this is a response to the American attempt “to put pressure on the Russian economy with the help of devastating sanctions”. She believes that the outcome of the meeting will be a public confirmation of the partnership between Moscow and Beijing in the fight against Western interference in the internal affairs of countries.
Mitchell noted that Western leaders were concerned about news about upcoming talks between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.
Earlier, political scientist Alexander Lomanov commented on the upcoming meeting of Russian and Chinese leaders. He said Beijing recognizes the United States as the main country seeking to rally the West to slow China’s development. Therefore, according to Lomanov, Russia and China intend to help each other and move forward.
